Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of our team, you’ll:
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment, focusing on turbines and pumps.
- Conduct balancing of mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
- Carry out mechanical repairs on shafts, journals, housings, and other components.
- Perform critical tasks like de-blading and re-blading steam and gas turbines.
- Handle high-speed rotating equipment, particularly steam and gas turbines.
- Read and record precise measurements, filling out detailed check sheets to meet quality standards.
- Repair or replace worn parts such as shafts, gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearings.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained using steamers, washers, and other cleaning methods.
What You’ll Bring – Your Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning (or similar).
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, especially with large equipment like pumps, gearboxes, fans, and turbines.
- A strong focus on precision, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- A passion for working with high-speed rotating machinery, particularly turbines and pumps.
