Sulzer Australia is currently looking for a Workshop Supervisor - Maitland Service Centre. Reporting to the Works Manager, your responsibilities in supporting the workshop and general site will include, but are not limited to:
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Work with SC Management to meet defined targets.
- Lead, manage and mentor departmental personnel members.
- Uphold customer relationships, collect customer feedback, share with sales and management.
- Assist the Works Manager in the recruitment, training, development, performance management, discipline, motivation and safe working practices of Department personnel.
- Identify training needs for Department personnel and ensure Department personnel remain up to date with all Work Instructions.
- Documenting jobs to include health and safety compliance and quality assurance.
- Quoting and estimating of jobs if designated by the Works Manager.
- Understand the workflow in the relevant Department and work with Department personnel in the scheduling of jobs and allocation of resources so maximum efficiency and economy of operations is achieved with each job.
- Control the flow of jobs through the Department including scheduling, priorities, progress updates and productivity.
- Attend meetings as requested and play an active part in the development of the business.
- Revision of Department job schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and the availability and capability of workers, parts, materials, machines and equipment.
- Compilation of reports when required.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- CERT III in Mechanical / or equivalent experience
Key skills / Experience / Role Requirement
- Experience & Knowledge of process and procedure and repairs of rotating mechanical plant, including pumps, fans and turbines.
- Supplier, subcontract, experience
- Microsoft office experience
- Attention to detail
- High level of communication skills.
- Good level of time management.
- Ability to engage and work with others.
