Join our Services_EMEA   team within Services  division in United Kingdom  as Machinist  to help us take customer satisfaction and machinist skills to the next level. In this role you will set up and operate equipment for machining activities allowing you opportunity to utilise your skills with a variety of lathes, turning centres and borers. In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments
  • Machine parts to pre-determined specifications using various machine tools: lathes, milling machines, machining centres, borers, and grinders
  • Set up metal spray equipment and apply processes to a finish
  • Measure, examine and test completed components to ensure conformance to specifications and to detect any possible defects
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines to remain on time for projects
  • Analyse, monitor, evaluate and review information from various sources to detect, assess and problem solve with the best solutions.
  • Be accurate with measurements
  • Dismantle and assemble motors, gearboxes, and pumps. Measuring and recording build tolerances you will have the ability to identify parts that require repair too.
  • Complete paperwork to a high standard, including documenting all supporting evidence in a timely manner.
  • Execute all work professionally. 


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship, City and Guilds qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred experience in dismantling and assembly of motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
  • Demonstrable experience within an electro, mechanical workshop
  • Excellent attention to detail is required
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Numerate, methodical approach
  • Practical skills are essential to this role
  • Great communication skills including flexibility to allow for positive adaptation required when customers’ requirements change.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer skills.

Location:  We are based on the outskirts of York you will be close the historic walled City of York, whilst only a few minutes’ drive off the Outer Ring Road and 10 minutes’ drive to the A64, this road connects to the A1M and M1.  York is a city with a lot to offer with, a wide variety of shops, theatres, and fab restaurants. As well as cool bars and a pub for almost every day of the year.
