Join Sulzer Services UK in York as our Labourer to help take our Service Centre to the next level.
The Service Centre works across multiple industry sectors and repairs a large array of different equipment and components. No 2 days are ever the same. The role may require more labouring some days and on others you may be driving more, if you are looking for variety then please read on.
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Provide support to the service centre by ensuring the workshop is clear, clean and well organised with items being placed in the correct places to ensure efficient and effective use of space and storage
- Assisting with preparing packages for despatch
- Load vehicle and ensure products are loaded and secured safely
- Loading and unloading of vehicles in the yard as part of managing the goods in and out process
- Use of overhead crane and Forklift trucks to load own vehicles
- To drive small vans/flat beds delivering and collecting components from customers and suppliers’ sites around the central/northern England area of the UK, in a polite and professional manner.
- Always adhere to health and safety responsibilities
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience of different loads and mechanical components, as opposed to only transporting pallets
- Experience of use of overhead cranes (not essential – training can be given)
- Experience of use of Forklift Trucks (not essential – training can be given
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong team player, with excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills

Location: We are based on the outskirts of York, close to the historic walled City of York, only a few minutes’ drive off the Outer Ring Road and 10 minutes’ drive to the A64, the road connects to the A1M and M1. York is a city with a lot to offer, a wide variety of shops, theatres, and fab restaurants. As well as great bars and a pub for almost every day of the year.
