Join Sulzer Services UK in York as our Hydraulics Engineer you will undertake hydraulic planned and reactive maintenance, installation, and repairs on a wide variety of industrial and mobile hydraulic systems to help take our Service Centre to the next level.
The Service Centre works across multiple industry sectors and repairs a large array of different equipment and components. No 2 days are ever the same
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Role is split between field service-based working on customers site and operating on-call/reactive breakdown basis and also working with the workshop as the need arises
- Fault find on hydraulic equipment and repair as required
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and written/verbal instruction
- Maintain communication with the customer to understand their requirements
- Responsible for the final inspection to ensure all work meets the appropriate standards and quality control criteria as set out by the company
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A recognised apprenticeship or significant relevant experience. Previous experience of working on hydraulic equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use applicable hand tools (grinders etc)
- A strong and dedicated approach to Health & Safety
- Trained and experienced in working on hydraulic equipment and systems
- Experience in working on customers sites such as Power Stations & Petrochemical
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team

Location: We are based on the outskirts of York you will be close the historic walled City of York, whilst only a few minutes’ drive off the Outer Ring Road and 10 minutes’ drive to the A64, this road connects to the A1M and M1. York is a city with a lot to offer with, a wide variety of shops, theatres, and fab restaurants. As well as cool bars and a pub for almost every day of the year.
