Senior Engineer Gas Turbines - Full Time - WinterthurSwitzerland

Join our Sulzer Turbo Services team, part of Sulzer Rotating Equipment Services (RES), which is one of the world's most advanced independent providers of repair, overhaul, and maintenance within the turbine industry. From either Winterthur or Venlo (Lomm) or on site, we provide our customers worldwide with solid, customer-oriented, and flexible support for their Compressors, Steam and Gas Turbines. Please join our proud and highly skilled international crew as a Senior Engineer Gas Turbines.  


In this role you will be accountable for:
• You will be the Engineer for our GT13E2 and other Alstom Gas Turbines operations and maintenance activities in the field service engineering team.
• You will be based in our Sulzer Winterthur or Venlo location and expected to travel to customers/ on site on a regular basis.
• Based on your experience, diagnostics, and analysis you will guide our service teams to ensure continuous and reliable operations of our customers equipment.
• To set up engineering procedures, work scopes and specifications for inspection and maintenance of Alstom Gas Turbines and in accordance with our Sulzer quality and safety standards and be responsible as back office GT engineer.
• As a site manager or technical advisor, you will ensure the delivery of minor and major service events, leading international teams and representing Sulzer towards our customers.
• In addition, you will assist the sales department whenever needed to visit our customers for technical alignment and you will support our tendering engineers by analyzing requests for quotation in order to decide the scope of work, tooling and schedules required.
• Finally, you enjoy to actively develop our teams on specific engineering skills on Gas Turbines and using your extensive field service knowledge and experience.

 

Summarized: This position is is a mix of office work, workshop engineering support and field service support. The amount of field work (business travel)  might differ from 20% to 40% depending on the workload. 


To succeed in this role, you will need to:
• Have a degree in (mechanical) engineering.
• Have a minimum of 10 years extensive field service experience with Alstom Gas Turbines in Power Generation (E and F class gas turbines) including sub systems and auxiliaries.
• Have experience with inspections, equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and typical findings.
• Have knowledge of proven site refurbishment techniques and knowledge of used materials in the equipment.
• Be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Have excellent developed communication and presentation skills.
• Have a proactive and flexible attitude with the willingness to international travel.

Preferred locations are in Switzerland (Winterthur) or in the Netherlands (Venlo).
