Join our finance team within the Division Flow Equipment as Operations Controller for the Business Unit Energy and help us taking the controlling activities to the next level.


In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Supporting the Business Unit Energy Head of Finance by delivering comprehensive and timely financial information for the purpose of business management and decision making
  • Month-end closing activities incl. variance and root cause analysis (e.g., actuals vs. budget and prior month forecast)
  • Ensure timely submission of legal entity reporting packages related to operations and alignment to Sulzer accounting standards, along with ensuring accuracy of financial records
  • Preparation of monthly operations results (e.g. quality results, absorption, inventory) 
  • Coordination and support the preparation of the MIS presentation and the monthly MIS calls
  • Support the Head of Finance with driving quarterly results, with focus on OI, sales and cash 
  • Business Partnering to Head Operations incl. monthly presentation of results to factory General Managers
  • Drive improvements in reporting and digitalization for Business Excellence team incl. simplification of processes
  • Drive the annual order intake budget preparation and support the overall budget process
  • Support and review the calculation of hourly rates per legal entity


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting, Finance or Controlling
  • At least 5 years of experience in controlling or financial planning and analysis, preferably in an industrial company
  • Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel) and strong knowledge of PowerPoint 
  • Experience with SAP BPC, SAP ERP (FI/CO modules) and business application tools is a plus
  • Strong communication skills in English, German is beneficial
  • Analytically strong person with high energy to drive for result 
  • Highest degree of accuracy, precision, and good attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and against tight deadlines 
  • A flexible and adaptive team player with a positive attitude
