We are looking for an Operational Excellence Manager to join our Services_HQ team in Switzerland . Sulzer Services is embarking on an inspiring journey of transformation, and we are searching for a passionate and experienced leader to step into the role of Business Excellence Manager.


As part of this pivotal role, you will become an essential member of the global Product Line Leadership Team for Electro-Mechanical Services (EMS). You will be entrusted with overseeing all Operational Excellence initiatives within the EMS Product Line and serve as the PMO Manager for the entire Services Division.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Identify and Drive Improvements: Identify areas for enhancement, formulate compelling cases for change, and implement modifications to boost speed, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Transition to Process-Oriented Approach: Lead the shift from a function-focused mindset to a process-oriented framework, encompassing process mapping and performance assessment.
  • Strategize Digitalization and Automation: Develop a forward-looking strategy for digitalization and automation in alignment with end-user requirements.
  • Enhance Business Understanding: Deepen your comprehension of the business model and processes and provide expert guidance to advance them.
  • Lead Process Design and IT Enhancements: Take the lead in the design and enhancement of key business processes, collaborating with internal IT teams to improve systems such as SAP, D365 and various applications
  • Project Management: Actively manage global projects to ensure their successful execution.
  • Collaboration with Global Leaders: Collaborate closely with global leaders to enhance processes and drive improvements
  • Project Management Office (PMO): Build up and manage a Project Management Office, developing standards, templates, guidelines, a comprehensive database, and robust reporting mechanisms for the effective management of internal projects, spanning growth initiatives, service offering development, operational excellence, and IT and digital solutions

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Operational Excellence: A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role as an Operational Excellence Manager, preferably in an international and technology-driven setting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing medium to large projects within a global, decentralized organization. Project Management and L6S certifications are advantageous
  • Master’s Degree: In IT, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field
  • Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards and best practices related to business process modelling and management, as well as requirements engineering (e.g., BPMN, UML, etc.). Expertise in lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Service Business Experience: Experience in the service business is advantageous. Experience in supply chain consulting 
  • Understanding the electrical motors business and markets is an advantage
  • Business Process Expertise: Strong business process expertise in Supply Chain, and Operations within the industrial equipment/services sector. Functional knowledge of ERP systems (SAP and D365) and CRM systems is preferred
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages (French, Spanish, Chinese) is advantageous
