Internship - Life Cycle Assesment (6 month)

We're offering internships at our Winterthur, Switzerland, headquarters for students and individuals interested in environmental issues who possess relevant skills, particularly those currently pursuing their Master's degree, and individuals interested in environmental issues who possess relevant skills.
Our new internship program is designed for those dedicated to addressing climate change. We are especially interested in candidates currently undertaking a Master's program, with a special interest in candidates with a Bachelor's in Environmental Science or Chemical Engineering. Interns will join our Chemtech division's Technology Center to enhance Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) practices and develop strategies for carbon footprint management.

 

Join our Technology and Innovation team within Chemtech division as an intern.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for selected Sulzer Chemtech technology portfolio. 
  • Develop and refine strategies and roadmaps for LCA implementation, focusing on CO2 quantification solutions.
  • Map Sulzer Chemtech technologies, equipment, and processes in detail.
  • Calculate and analyze product carbon footprints, contributing to Sulzer's sustainability goals.
  • Leverage current regulations and standards to guide Sulzer in establishing leading practices in CO2 quantification and reduction.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure project alignment and adherence to project objectives.

 

What you bring to Sulzer:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Direct experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) processes and methodologies.
  • An analytical mindset, with a strategic and process-oriented approach to environmental issues.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to apply this to complex environmental data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an appreciation for multicultural differences.
  • A high degree of autonomy, paired with a pragmatic and proactive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • The motivation and passion to contribute to impactful sustainability initiatives.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages considered a benefit.
