We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head SAP to join our IT team in Winterthur, Switzerland.  

 

In this role, you are responsible of managing the SAP Center of Excellence providing internal service to the Sulzer divisions running on SAP templates. You are a senior leader responsible for managing the CoE’s operations execution and projects. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team -with an headcount of 70 fte among internal and external distributed in different countries. Strong communication, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills. Identify and manage actions related to training, master data management, Key User communities etc. arising from and in connection with projects, both within and outside the IT community.
  • Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of the SAP systems landscape revolving around the ECC Templates (for ETO, CTO and Chemicals), ensuring regular operations run smoothly, maximizing uptime, and applying updates in a timely manner.
  • Operation Management: ensure Service Level Agreement are achieved (e.g. incidents, service requests and changes)  
  • Projects and Innovation: Ensure proper rollout and implementation of ERP roll-out projects. Driving innovation within the organization through controlled projects and enhancements. Ensure that all standards are defined and adhered to. Align with Business Partner to establish priorities and create a roadmap for SAP CoE. 
  • Release Management: Prioritizing and controlling the demands process for change and innovation during the lifecycle of the SAP templated.
  • Audit: support ECC audit activities.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Higher education in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field, supplemented by relevant SAP certifications.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in global industrial engineering and manufacturing organizations, preferably in similar vertical sectors. 
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional and global offshore delivery teams, as well as leading SAP rollouts, as a Project Manager or Stream Lead.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a Team Lead capacity, consisting of 50 or more full-time employees (FTEs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and accountable for driving performance and delivery.
  • Extensive expertise with SAP solutions, support models, and best practices, including deep knowledge of SAP ECC systems. Ideally, this experience includes a strong understanding of the SAP S/4HANA landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP modules MM/PP/QM/WM and of integrations among modules. 
  • Exposure to SAP Cloud solution as BTP and / or familiarity with SAP templates that closely compare with Sulzer`s is considered an advantage. 
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align SAP initiatives to business goals, supported by a deep understanding of processes and SAP best practices across various templates.
  • Process and Data mining working expertise (eg. Celonis). 
  • Proficient in internal consulting and facilitation, with the capacity to quickly learn new technologies and processes while adapting to changes in timelines and sequences.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages relevant to Sulzer’s regional business operations considered a strong advantage. 
  • Willingness to travel.
