Join our team within the Chemtech division of Sulzer Canada as an Electrical Designer to help us take FRC to the next level. 

 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Creating detailed designs of control and automation systems for wastewater machinery including panel schematics, panel layouts, PLC systems, I/O lists and bills of materials
  • Developing, testing, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI software, electrical circuits, and equipment
  • Identifying customer requirements and translating them into engineered solutions in accordance with related safety standards
  • Managing the manufacturing and procurement of electrical panels and equipment with sub suppliers
  • Working within the project and sales teams by providing support on electrical and controls related matters
  • Providing electrical and controls related project support in the field 
  • Managing a growing electrical design team
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Working knowledge in the design of electrical control systems
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI, and SCADA (preferably Allen Bradley)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Understanding of electrical and safety standards
  • Knowledge of waste management, or water treatment equipment/industry would be an asset
  • Willingness to travel to support onsite and field activities
  • Willingness to take occasional criminal record/drug tests for US clients

 

If you possess a university degree or college diploma in electrical engineering or technology, take the next step and make the most of your electrical design skills.
