Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd (SPIRL), is part of the Flow division of Sulzer specializes in pumping solutions to meet our customers. With our onsite global design team, we engineer and manufacture products and solutions that support water recycling in a sustainable energy efficient way. Our products have been working hard in the environment for over 50 years.  We’re proud to support manufacturing in Ireland and our community, and we always strive to make local infrastructure work better. Over 100,000 pumps are manufactured in Wexford annually to control and clean water for a global market. There are 270 people employed in the Sulzer Company based in Wexford.  

We are looking for a/an Senior Finance Manager  to join our GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting  team in Ireland .

Sulzer seeks to recruit a Senior Finance Manager for its Wexford manufacturing operation, to play a key role in supporting the local management team and work closely with the General Manager as a true business partner, ensuring the provision of all relevant financial information to support a constant process of business improvement. Leading a team, this is a highly commercial opportunity with a focus on driving and maintaining exceptional performance. The emphasis is very much on using finance and business analysis to help the management team to identify challenges and opportunities to ensure achievement of the unit’s goals.


The Senior Finance Manager will report directly to the Global Operations Controller, with a strong indirect reporting line to the local General Manager.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

•    Providing support to business partners by delivering comprehensive and timely financial information to support business management and decision making.
•    Developing and monitoring monthly reports for revenues and expenditure together will all other controlling aspects of the factory and legal entity.
•    Analysing deviations between actual, rolling forecast and budget. Being proactive in supporting business partners to create plans to close identified gaps and implement improvements.
•    Monthly manufacturing variances, KPI-setting and analysis and identification of gaps and improvement measures.
•    Support business partners in the review and analysis of the financial impact of strategic initiatives and investment opportunities.
•    Establish and manage the tracking and monitoring of KPIs.
•    Monitor and control capital expenditure spending.
•    Manage factory and unit costs, ensuring adherence to cost-calculation standards and support business partners in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
•    Work with business partners to prepare plans, budgets and forecasts.
•    Deliver effective and timely communication on all relevant issues to internal and external stakeholders.
•    Review and assess all issues to do with internal controls and factory risks, coordinating with colleagues to ensure that risk-management policies and procedures are managed and implemented effectively and supporting internal and external audits in operational and new-business related financial matters.
•    Assess financial contracts and tender orders from a cost and risk perspective.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

•    Very strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
•    Excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
•    Highly-developed analytical ability, with strong commercial awareness and deep business understanding.
•    Strong SAP/ERP and advance excel skills desirable.  
•    Very strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise responsibilities and processes.
•    Excellent project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple improvement initiatives at once.
•    The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team in a high-performance matrix environment, combined with the ability to support a variety of business areas.
