Join our dynamic team at the heart of our operations – our state-of-the-art workshop in Southampton. Equipped for the comprehensive overhaul and repair of diverse rotating machinery, we thrive on precision and excellence. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for supervising all operational activities at our Southampton Service Centre and local field service work across Southampton and Chessington. 


Your main tasks and responsibilites:

  • Managing and mentoring the departmental supervisors.
  • scheduling, coordination, and the flow of and between the departments and customers to expedite production.
  • Upholding long term customer relationships that have been established by the Customer Service Representatives
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, development, performance management
  • Identify training needs for workshop staff and ensure workshop employees remain up to date with all Work Instructions and workshop procedures.
  • Quotation and estimation of jobs to the level designated by the Service Centre Manager

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a Management or Supervisory engineering role within a service-based industry
  • A recognised formal apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification would be desirable with an electromechanical background
  • IOSH Health and Safety
  • Experience in all disciplines in an Electromechanical Engineering Workshop
  • Good people management skills  
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ Attitude
