Mechanical Supervisor - Full Time - SouthamptonUnited Kingdom

Join our RES UK Southampton Service Centre, as our  Mechnical Supervisor to help take our machine shop to the next level. 
What do we do? We repair and refurbish all types of rotating equipment, specializing in the repair or re-manufacture of a worn or damaged component, to the overhaul and rebuild of a complete machine.

 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Accountable for all workshop-related activities to ensure customer requirements are achieved
  • Supervision of employees to include assisting with HR matters e.g.  appraisals  
  • Review job requirements and coordinate with Managers and Team Leaders to ensure the workshop load is effectively prioritised and managed in a way that supports the business objectives and all scheduled deadlines are achieved
  • Ensure all technical information is accurately compiled for repair work scopes and quotes, within a timely manner
  • Monitor progress of jobs, including labour hour allocations, parts availability, sub-contract activities, delivery targets, and any emergent problems to meet rolling forecast

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Formal apprenticeship, preferably in electrical/mechanical engineering   
  • IOSH Health and Safety for Supervisors
  • Previous experience of dismantling, rewinding, assembling, and testing electrical/mechanical rotating equipment in utilities such as Power, Hydro, and O&G
  • Previous Supervisory experience and can demonstrate a “lead from the front attitude” & motivate others
  • Conversant with Microsoft office including word, excel, and Outlook.
