Electrical and Instrumentation Technician/ Engineer - Full Time - SingaporeSingapore

 

Join our R&D team within Chemtech division in Singapore as Electrical and Instrumentation Technician/Engineer to help us take Chemtech to the next level. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • The job holder is responsible for the execution of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of all pilot plant facility as well as maintaining the calibration program of all instruments.

  • Develop electrical and instrumentation systems tailored for ATEX or IEC classified environments. This includes designing control panels, crafting intricate wiring diagrams, and meticulously mapping out instrumentation layouts. 
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime and ensure safety. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems adhere to relevant safety standards and regulations. Participate in safety assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical and instrumentation designs, configurations, and maintenance records. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement in electrical and instrumentation systems. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend upgrades and improvements.

     

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant experiences in pharmaceutical, chemical or petrochemical industries.

  • >7 years for Diploma or 3-5 years for Degree experience in pharmaceutical, petrochemical or flavor and fragrance environment.

  • Hands-on experience in ATEX or IEC environment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs,  maintenance of automation and equipment, as well as maintaining the calibration program of all instruments.

  • Ability to conceptualize and provide design for electrical, instrument and control wiring diagrams.

  • Requires skills in analyzing malfunctions in control systems and making appropriate repairs. This includes troubleshooting PLCs, field sensors, control wiring, general I/O wiring, & networks/communications wiring.

  • Requires skill in the use of technicians' tools such as electric meters, oscilloscopes, calibration devices, electronic testers, etc.

  • Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials and equipment.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant design software.
