Analytical Chemist/Application Chemist - Full Time - Singapore, Singapore
Join our ST APAC team within Chemtech division in Singapore as Application/Analytical Chemist to help us take Chemtech to the next level.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform analytical method transfer, implementation and testing to support bench-scale experiment and/or pilot test. Some pilot test may require rotating shift schedule and hence support is required.
- Characterization analysis: GC, GC-MS, Headspace GC, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, titration, HPLC, water content, density, viscosity, etc.
- Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art technologies (laboratory methods, techniques), optimize existing methods, contribute to new method development, and reproduce published methods.
- To support and carry out pilot test from distillation, evaporation to crystallization pilot plant.
- To support and carry out pilot test from distillation, evaporation to crystallization pilot plant.
- Develop, review and approval of validation SOPs, templates, guidelines, validation protocols and reports including supporting site discrepancies and deviations investigation aligned with corporate policies and standards.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Degree in Chemistry, Biologics, Pharma / Chemical engineering or related field
- 2 to 5 years of analytical testing experience in pharmaceutical, petrochemical or flavor and fragrance environment.
- Good technical knowledge and experience in analytical chemistry,
- Highly proficient with various instruments and techniques such as GC, GC-MS, Headspace GC, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, titration, HPLC, and measurement of physical properties such as water content, density, and viscosity.
- Knowledge of separation processes such as distillation, liquid-liquid extraction, and crystallization is an advantage.
- Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials and equipment.
- Experience with operating mini pilot plant is an advantage.
