Join our Sulzer Pumps Wastewater Malaysia team within Chemtech Business Unit division as Applications and Proposal Engineer to help us take Chemtech operation to the next level.

 

Purpose of the Job

  1. Conceptual design of process solution and Process Simulation
  2. Application development of potential application as well as come up with “Go to Market” Strategy
  3. Prepare technical proposals and commercial tenders
  4. Interface with front-sales and monitor progress of projects
  5. Interface with Pilot Test Centre for confirmation of feasibility of design concept
  6. Co-ordinate projects with head office, regional offices and agents
  7. Visiting and presents Sulzer portfolio to the customers
  8. Technical and Commercial clarification meeting with customers
  9. Prepares internal handover meeting

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and co-ordinate technical and commercial proposal activities with Regional Offices and Local Headquarters
  2. Prepare price calculation and tender documentation
  3. Work closely with cross-functional departments (process engineering, engineering, project management, shipping/logistic) and suppliers/
  4. sub-contractors to prepare cost estimates for engineering studies, process equipment and complete plants.
  5. Ensure that the specifications offered to the customer are within the capability and capacity of the company
  6. Ensure that the customers’ requirements are adequately conveyed and properly reflected in proposal.
  7. Any other duties that are assigned by superior.

To succeed in this role, you will need:-

 

Education requirements:

 

  • Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering

 

Job experience:

 

  1. >3 years’ experience in applications proposal and tendering & solution execution in chemical industry and experienced in chemicals and agro, bio or pharma industry.
  2. Be more appreciated with plant operation and DCS control practices.
  3. Familiar with equipment, instrument and other components used in chemical plant is preferred.
  4. A background in process simulation understanding will be regarded as a strong advantage

 

 

Knowledge requirements (professional, technical, language):

  2. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Hands-on with excellent analytical, planning, evaluation and implementation skills.

  1. Excellent both in writing and talking in English.
  1. Fluent in other languages (such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc) would be an added advantage.
