Join our Services_AME  team within Services division in United States as Shipping/Receiving Clerk to help us take Sulzer to the next level. 

 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Understanding and independently carrying out work instructions, safety procedures, general instructions of shop supervisor, and company policies. 

  • Adhering to safe work habits, rules, and practices.  This includes the correct use of tools, machines, safety devices, and equipment. 

  • Utilizing overhead cranes, forklift trucks, and other lifting devices to move product throughout shop. 

  • Transporting and storing items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, stock rooms, or other areas. 

  • Taking and managing incoming and outgoing photographs of customer equipment.  

  • Making customer equipment ready for shipment.  This could include painting, tagging, and preserving equipment prior to shipment to the customer. 

  • Using general carpentry tools such as a hammer, power drill, and power saw to build crates, boxes, cradles, or skids used to ship pumps and parts. 

  • Preparing shipments by assembling, counting, weighing, checking against shipping order and reporting discrepancies. 

  • Shipping domestic and international items by verifying identifying information and quantity and conditions of items. Working with drivers to load and protect items. 

  • Maintaining a clean and orderly workplace.  Maintain shipping materials by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed materials, placing orders for materials, and verifying receipt of materials. 

  • Driving shop trucks for occasional deliveries to or from local vendor and customer locations. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills. 

  • Basic computer aptitude to learn data entry systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.  

  • Ability to detect and correct paperwork errors or discrepancies as necessary. 

  • Mechanical aptitude and a desire to grow and develop new skills. 

  • Ability to learn and safely operate lifting devices including forklift trucks and overhead cranes. 

  • Ability to use various hand and machine tools. 

  • Able to work overtime and weekends as required. 

  • Ability to frequently stand for the duration of your shift and lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a full range of hand and upper-body motion to work with tools and parts.
