Sulzer Australia is always looking for experienced Electrical Fitters to join our team at our Rydalmere Service Centre. This is a hands on role, involving the dismantle, repair and assembly of LV and HV motors where internal and external customer service is paramount. Additionally, the role supports other Mechanical equipment (Pumps) when not working on Electrical Motors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Repair of LV & HV electrical rotating machinery;  motor overhauls, rewinds and repairs.
  • Rewind Electric Motors and Generators, including DC and PM motors.
  • Conduct Static and dynamic testing of electrical equipment. Vibration analysis is a plus. 
  • Assist Section Supervisor with the supervision and training of apprentices.
  • Attend onsite to effectively conduct repair of electrical rotating equipment
  • Support Mechanical Division when needed by trouble shooting pumps & mixers. 
  • National and international travel when required;
  • Understanding and commitment to adhering to operating in alignment with company values, safety; and quality procedures/policies.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Section Supervisor, Works Manager.

   Selection Criteria

  • Dedication to working in a safe manner at all times.
  • Australian recognized Trade Certificate level III in Electrical Fitting; Electrical Machine Repair; or equivalent or willingness to acquire.
  • Experience in overhaul, repair and rewind of DC motors;
  • Proven ability to provide service delivery that is customer focused, flexible and adaptable.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritisation, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow company policy, procedures, training regimes.
  • Manual Drivers Licence.
