TAX SUPERVISOR

 

Job Description:

 

Join our US&Canada Indirect Tax Team as a Tax Supervisor, to help us take our company to the next level!

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

 

Indirect Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare, analyze, and file indirect tax returns (Sales & Use, GST/HST) across 45+ U.S. states and Canadian provinces using Vertex Returns and Avalara, and reconciling the data with SAP-Dynamics accounts ledgers and receivable/payable invoices. Set up additional tax jurisdictions as required. File and pay electronically where available; manually prepare returns when automation is not supported.
  • Compile quarterly legal entity sales by state reports to assess and monitor nexus requirements.
  • Prepare property tax renditions and submit payment requests.
  • Manage annual license renewals and its payment if required.

 

Stakeholder Management, Supervising, Special Projects & Audit Support:

  • Respond to requests for Sales & Use Tax or GST/HST information, including taxability and rate determinations.
  • Compile documentation for audits and liaise with state and local tax auditors as needed.
  • Maintain and review customer records, sales tax reports and supporting documents, including resale/exemption certificates and proof of exports.
  • Communicate with external tax advisors to ensure timely fulfillment of their requirements.
  • Actively contribute to special projects, including the implementation of Vertex across all entities.
  • Ensure the timely compliance of our entities tax returns deadlines, by actively monitoring the Tax Calendar.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced English level (B2/C1+).
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or related.
  • 5+ years of multi-state sales/use tax or related indirect tax experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, ERPs as SAP/Dynamics, and preferably PowerBi.
  • 3+ years of experience using Sales & Use Tax, GST/HST automation softwares. Vertex and Avalara strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet required deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
