POSITION:            Regional Engineering Manager

 

WORKSITE:            1910 Jasmine Drive, Pasadena, Texas, 77503, United States

 

JOB DUTIES:    Provide oversight over the Central Engineering team that provides analysis and troubleshooting support services to third-party customers and internal Sulzer customers. Oversee the New Parts Development program and development activities within the region. Participate in commercial, financial, business development and other strategic meetings and contribute to decision-making. Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art technology through periodic attendance at technical association meetings, reading technical articles, and maintaining close professional relationships with private consultants, machine and machinery component designers, and other associates in the industry. Present papers at technical conferences and/or write technical articles when it is in the best interest of the company. Review and approve New Parts or Development Project charters. Support sales and business development initiatives. Serve as Stakeholder in projects that involve multiple disciplines or RES product lines. Participate in the Tender Order Assessment process when required. Continually review processes and procedures, particularly related to field of expertise, to assure high quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations and maintain efficiency of operations. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training of new engineers in the Engineering department. Participate in CAPEX process when it requires implementation of new processes and technologies. Manage or lead special projects. Support the company’s Quality initiatives to improve and add value to the customer experience. Plan, monitor and execute continuous improvement projects to meet the objectives of the operational management team. Take responsibility for safety. Identify problems and areas for improvement and notify or take immediate action as appropriate.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:     Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:     Five (5) years of experience as Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineer.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:     The required five (5) years of experience as Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineer must have involved electric motor and generator testing and repair.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:     Up to 25% domestic travel required.
