R&D Lab Technician Bio-Polymer- Full Time - 1 Year - Oberwinterthur, Switzerland

Would you like to support our R&D team to solve problems for the next generation of biopolymers? Join our international team in Oberwinterthur and help us make a step forward towards solving the climate crisis by developing biodegradable polymers.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Synthesize and characterize bio-polymers in laboratory scale. 
  • Collaborate with the application team to design and produce bio-polymers at pilot facilities. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab safety and cleanliness. 
  • Perform customer trials and lab-scale testing under the support of R&D Engineers. 
  • Support R&D engineers in the analytics and operation of pilot plants for the production of bio-polymers. 

 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Master degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar field is preferred.
  • Work experience in a relevant field for at least 2 years is preferred. 
  • Laboratory experience in conducting polymer and organic chemistry experiments.
  • Know-how in characterization analysis like GC, HPLC and GPC.
  • Data analysis using basic python libraries (pandas, matplotlib or numpy) is a plus.
  • English is a must for this position. German, French and Italian are advantageous.
  • You must be ready to present and communicate your result clearly during regular meetings. Team player, problem solver, strong communicator, adaptability are advantageous soft skills for this position.
