R&D Engineer CCUS Solutions - Full Time - OberwinterthurSwitzerland

We are looking for a R&D Engineer CCUS Solutions to join our CT_Technology & Innovation team in Switzerland to help us take Sulzer to the next level. In this role you will support the development of CCUS solutions with internal and external stakeholders including lab- to pilot-scale testing.

 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Manage and execute CCUS R&D projects according to Stage & Gate process, with emphasis on CO2 capture and mineralization
  • Design, develop, and test CCUS process solutions, manage project schedules and costs, improve and maintain test facilities
  • Assess, address, and mitigate risks associated with technology development, including technical, compliance, safety, and financial risks
  • Document results, write reports, report MIS, maintain databases, contribute to handbooks.
  • Present results to stakeholders/customers, at conferences, and in journal articles
  • Collaborate with other T&I units and external industrial and academic partners, and contribute to grant application preparation
  • Develop and evaluate ideas for new technical solutions in the area of responsibility. Identify and assess patentable inventions and contribute to IP filing.  Contribute to the creation of design guidelines and tools
  • Supervise assigned trainees and coordinate their work for relevant projects

 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Doctorate degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or related technical fields 
  • 3+ years of experience in technical science and research 
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively as a team player
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated capacity for analytical thinking, problem-solving, and maintaining a proactive, adaptable attitude
  • Experience with process simulation and related software is a plus
  • Fluency in English, German is an advantage
