Internship R&D of Bio-renewables Purification - Full Time - OberwinterthurSwitzerland

We are looking for a motivated Intern to join our Bio-monomers R&D team and support with bio-renewables purification.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Contribute to the development of production and purification processes for bio-renewables.
  • Perform synthesis and purification experiments from the lab-scale up to pilot level, implement characterization experiments and contribute to their optimization.
  • Analyze, process and demonstrate results in reports and internal meetings.
  • Contribute to setting up new lab and pilot infrastructure.
  • Supporting pilot-scale trials in the field of bio-monomer and -polymer production.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Master’s or PhD students, as well as recent graduates, in chemical or biomedical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in purification technologies such as: distillation, filtration, absorption / desorption, and liquid extraction. 
  • Experience with relevant analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, titrations, ICP-OES).
  • Know how of process design and organic chemistry is regarded as an advantage. 
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office 365 applications.
  • Fluency in English.

 

The internship is intended to begin from the 1st of May 2025 and lasts for six (6), up to nine (9), consecutive months - depending on your availability. Starting time can be negotiated based on curriculum needs and individual situations.
