Internship CCUS Solutions R&D - Full Time - OberwinterthurSwitzerland

We are seeking a motivated R&D Intern to join our dynamic Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) team within Sulzer's expanding Chemtech division in Oberwinterthur, Switzerland.

 

As part of our innovative CCUS R&D team, you will contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge CCUS technologies that are set to make a global impact. Join us and play a key role in driving our CCUS applications to the next level, shaping a sustainable future with Sulzer.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Execute experimental tasks related to laboratory-scale coating formulation, application, and characterization in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Process and analyse data from hands-on experiments and relevant literature, assist in literature review and modeling.
  • Help with troubleshooting and resolving any experimental issues.
  • Organize and report experimental results and literature findings in a clear and structured manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, following safety guidelines and protocols.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Master or PhD in Chemical/Process Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science.
  • Good hands-on experimental skills with lab experience, experience in composite formulation and relevant analytics is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in data analysis and result presentation with skills in MS Office 365 applications, experience with a process simulation tool such as AspenPlus or HYSIS or equivalent is a plus.
  • Able to conduct tasks independently and as a team player.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and proactive in problem solving.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

The internship is suited for final year students eager to combine their studies with an industry placement, or, for recent Master or PhD students wishing to explore industry. The ideal start date is the 1st of December with some flexibility.
