Internship Biobased R&D - Full Time - Oberwinterthur, Switzerland

Join our dynamic Bio-polymers and Bio-monomers R&D team within the Chemtech division in Switzerland. As an R&D Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in advancing our bio-based and renewable applications, contributing to innovative research and development efforts.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Actively participate in experiments ranging from lab to pilot scale, supporting R&D engineers in bio-monomer production and bio-polymer research.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into the synthesis and processing of bio-based materials.
  • Perform comprehensive characterization of produced bio-monomers to facilitate subsequent polymerization trials.
  • Be responsible of qualitative and quantitative analysis and data elaboration of raw materials and products.
  • Present results at group meetings and summarize your work in form of reports.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Current student or recent graduate (Master’s or PhD) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering, with a strong foundation in polymer chemistry.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in conducting organic chemistry synthesis.
  • Know-how in characterization analysis like GC, HPLC and GPC.
  • Fluency in English - other languages are a plus. 
  • Skilled in MS Office 365 (especially Excel)

 No visa or work permit support can be provided for this role. 

 

The internship is intended to begin from 1st July/August 2025 and last for six (6) consecutive months. Starting time can be negotiated based on curriculum needs and individual situations.
