As a Stores Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our stores function, ensuring that materials, tools, and components are available to support our engineering teams. You will lead a small team, driving best practices in stock management, inventory control, and material handling while maintaining compliance with HSE and quality standards.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day running of the stores function, ensuring an efficient flow of materials.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, ensuring timely ordering and replenishment of inventory.
  • Manage goods inwards and outwards processes, ensuring compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Drive best practices in stock control and storage, optimising space and minimising waste.
  • Ensure all tools, materials, and consumables are stored and issued in line with operational needs.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and engineering teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels accordingly.
  • Support compliance with HSE and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards within the stores environment.
  • Lead and develop a small team, providing training and guidance to ensure high performance.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory management role, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Experience working with an ERP / MRP system to manage stock records and transactions.
  • Knowledge of stock control, goods-in/goods-out processes, and material handling best practices.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to HSE and quality standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
