Senior Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Engineer - Full Time - Netherley United Kingdom

As a Senior Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Engineer, you will be the linchpin in our service workshop’s operations. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will spearhead engineering activities, manage warranty work, and support customer equipment during critical overhaul and repair phases. Your profound knowledge of RB211 turbines will be the catalyst for our engineering progress and expansion. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Craft, update, and oversee manuals and repair specifications for products like RB211, Avon, Olympus, and power turbine equipment.
  • Tackle daily engineering challenges in the workshop, providing solutions and technical advice.
  • Collaborate with sales and projects teams, offering technical insights for quotes and bids.
  • Generate technical reports for ongoing orders and broader engineering needs.
  • Offer technical support to customer-facing staff, enhancing our technical prowess and customer relations.
  • Lead and contribute to warranty and non-conformance reports, including RCAs and technical documents.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A formal HNC/BEng qualification (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Essential experience with RB211 Turbines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of gas turbines, including their applications, components, and maintenance.
  • Skilled in technical communication with clients.
  • Adept in diagnosing mechanical system faults.
  • A proactive, adaptable self-starter.
  • CAD proficiency (NX preferred) for drafting and manufacturing support is a plus.
  • A customer-focused approach with a keen eye for new business opportunities.
  • Availability for occasional travel and off-site project work. A full UK Driver’s Licence and Passport are required.
