Our well-established Service Centre in Middlesbrough boasts a fully equipped workshop, capable of overhauling and repairing various types of rotating machinery. Leveraging Sulzer’s extensive worldwide network of spare parts manufacturing centres, we ensure the availability of additional components to enhance our operations.

 

As the Operations Manager at our Middlesbrough Service Centre, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities include implementing robust measures to maintain the highest standards in our service, repair, and overhaul activities.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the day-to-day operations of our engineering workshop, with a focus on driving efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control measures to uphold the highest standards in our service, repair, and overhaul activities.
  • Champion HSE initiatives, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all team members. Implement and monitor safety protocols.
  • Manage and lead the workshop team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, with a particular emphasis on implementing 5S methodologies for workplace organisation and efficiency.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Prior experience in a managerial capacity, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of successfully driving operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated capability to guide and lead individuals through a transformative journey.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Results-driven mindset with a commitment to achieving high standards.
