We are looking for an Application Engineer to join FE_WIBU team in Meriden, CT. This position is responsible for providing sales and technical support on Sulzer-Nordic Water capital equipment products.  The position will provide applications, project, and service support to assigned manufacturer representatives and other Sulzer internal departments as required on municipal water and wastewater projects.  


 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Provide technical support on the Sulzer water treatment equipment products to assigned manufacturer representatives and sales management team.  This includes providing support for related products and accessories.  
  • Review customer requirements, including consultant’s technical plans and specifications, and assist with the proper application and selection of products.
  • Assist the sales team during the specification development phase of projects to communicate features and benefits of Sulzer products helping drive the implementation of Sulzer friendly specifications.
  • Prepare costing/pricing data, technical data, quotations and technical proposals in support of buy-resell and direct bid projects.
  • Oversee release and order entry by preparing documentation required for manufacturing and procurement assuring the integrity of all design and order entry information, including performing MRP system work as necessary. 
  • Provide technical support to procurement, manufacturing and service as needed.
  • Work with internal and external customers to satisfy their requirements.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • B.S. Engineering, Mechanical, or Civil (Environmental) preferred, or equivalent. 
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working with treatment equipment preferably in the municipal water and wastewater industry. An understanding of pumps and systems is helpful along with a basic understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and controls.   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with consulting engineers, distributors, sales managers, and suppliers.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to work individually or as part of a team and should be able to communicate with multiple international manufacturing sites as required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, Adobe or equal, and AutoCAD.
