Position: Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Technician

 

Position Summary

 

Hands-on technician in the disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of aeroderivative gas turbine engines, subassemblies, components, and accessories.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Work independently and with team members to disassemble, inspect, conduct minor repairs, assemble, and modify gas turbine engines, turbines, accessories, and support systems.
  • Read and interpret work instructions and inspection manuals to determine material compliance. Record findings in project logs and submit to next department.
  • Use calibrated measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Adhere to detailed work instructions and procedures assigned by the supervisor and monitored by a quality inspector.
  • Acquire personal tools and hardware to perform the work. Specialized tools provided by Sulzer.
  • Operate instrumentation to perform pressure and flow tests.
  • Review all phases of tasks, as specified by work instructions, perform self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain shop equipment, facilities, and support systems.
  • Package engines for shipment to the customer

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance Management plus 10 months Diesel or Gas Turbine Engine Repair experience,
  • Or, in the alternative, 24 months experience with Diesel or Gas Turbine Engine Repair
  • Travel 5% of the time to Customer sites within the United States
