Join our Services_AME team within Services division in United States as Aero Gas Turbine Technical Services Engineer to help us take our Margate Service Center & Aero / Gas Turbine Service Business to the next level. 


Reports to: Engineering Manager (La Porte, TX)

Location: Margate, Florida


Travel 20% to:

•           Customer sites within US and some international

•           Sulzer main facilities in La Porte, TX

Position Summary

Providing engineering support to Sulzer’s Turbo Services Florida facility, on projects executed at the Margate facility or the field and serve as subject matter expert in several specialized technical roles, including the operation and management of the gas turbine test facility.


In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Provide technical support to achieve engineering and quality excellence
  • Review out-of-manual conditions and provide engineering solutions in relation to engine overhaul and repair processes
  • Research operating environments and functionality of components, interactions with mating parts; develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service
  • Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs
  • Facilitate the development and qualification of repair tools and assembly equipment
  • Prepare or contribute to the development of standard work for repairs and tooling management
  • Participate in the prototyping of new repairs and tooling as needed
  • Propose creative engineering solution to reduce engine turn time and shop visit cost
  • Support test engine performance test activities and test cell operations and analysis to ensure engine meets customer performance and durability standard
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects to bring change to the department and company
  • Assist with the management of special projects


To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • BS Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with aircraft component and system repair
  • Experience with aircraft repair tooling design and development
  • Understanding of manufacturing practices, jet engine assembly/disassembly and maintenance procedures is desirable
  • Able to read, interpret, and communicate technical data, part, and tool drawing requirements
  • Good working knowledge in MS Office applications (Words, Excel, Projects, and Power Point)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Versatile worker who can work well in a team setting and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable with customer interaction
  • Project management experience
  • Candidate must have experience in manufacturing/assembly concepts
