Senior Business Controller - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

We are looking for a/an Senior Business Controller to join our GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting to lead strategic planning and performance analysis to optimize sales, operations, and financial processes, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Leading strategic planning to align sales and operations, large capital projects, and working capital planning
- Provide performance insights comparing current figures with prior years, budget, and forecast and coordinate follow-up actions
- Identify and assess business risks and opportunities.
- Ensure cost control and optimize local operations.
- Oversee day-to-day activities related to backlog tracking, customer order profitability
- Conduct monthly and yearend closing activities
- Track capital and operational projects, ensuring billing and revenue recognition align with financial goals.
- Analyze performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve site performance.
- Lead capacity planning and ensure cost-efficient operational capacity.
- Identify and address gaps in ERP and operating processes.
- Maintain relationships with local stakeholders, providing strategic financial insights aligned with business objectives
- Develop and manage the annual budget and rolling forecasts
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal regulations
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Finance or Controlling, with 5-7 years of relevant experience in Business Control within an international company.
- Experience with SAP (FI/CO modules) and business application tools
- Fluency in English, German is beneficial
- Solid understanding of IFRS
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with a critical thinking approach to problem-solving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams and with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
