Are you an experienced finance professional looking to make a real impact? Sulzer is seeking a proactive and skilled Business Controller to join our team at Nordic Waters AB in Mölndal, Sweden. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines analytical expertise with a forward-thinking approach, eager to understand the key drivers and developments of the business. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting decision-making, optimizing costs, and delivering actionable financial insights that directly influence the future of our operations and strategy.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- • Develop and manage the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
• Provide performance insights comparing current figures with prior years, budget, and forecast.
• Identify and assess business risks and opportunities.
• Ensure cost control and optimize local operations.
• Oversee day-to-day activities related to inventory management, backlog tracking, customer order profitability, and utilization metrics.
• Track capital and operational projects, ensuring billing and revenue recognition align with financial goals.
• Analyze performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve site performance.
• Lead capacity planning and ensure cost-efficient operational capacity.
• Review investment plans and provide ad hoc support for financial performance.
• Identify and address gaps in ERP and operating processes.
• Support the Finance Manager with additional tasks as needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent negotiation, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence and persuade.
• Strong analytical skills with a critical thinking approach to problem-solving.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams and with stakeholders.
• A customer-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• A degree in Finance or Controlling, with 5-7 years of relevant experience in Business Control within an international company.
• Fluency in English and local language, with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and advanced accounting principles.
