Join our Sulzer Turbo Services team, part of Sulzer  Services, which is one of the world's most advanced independent providers of repair, overhaul, and maintenance within the turbine industry. From Venlo (Lomm) or on site, we provide our customers worldwide with solid, customer-oriented, and flexible support for their Compressors, Steam and Gas Turbines. Please join our proud and highly skilled international crew as a Jr. Rotating Equipment Engineer.  


In this role you will be accountable for:

  • You will get the chance to develop and to be trained into an engineer for our Siemens & GE Gas Turbines (GT) operations and maintenance activities in the Field Service Engineering team:
    • To set up engineering procedures, work scopes and specifications for inspection and maintenance of Siemens or GE gas turbines and in accordance with our Sulzer quality and safety standards and be responsible as back office GT engineer.
    • To assist the sales department whenever needed to visit our customers for technical alignment and you will support our tendering engineers by analyzing requests for quotation in order to decide the scope of work, tooling and schedules required.
    • To ensure the delivery of minor and major service events, leading international teams and representing Sulzer towards our customers on site.
    • Based on your experience, diagnostics, and analysis you will guide our service teams to ensure continuous and reliable operations of our customers equipment.
  • You will be based at our Sulzer Venlo location and you are expected to travel to customers/ on site on a regular basis. The exact amount of travelling will be agreed in mutual alignment. 
  • You will be trained to become an engineer to technically support our local Rotor Shop with refurbishment and repair of gas turbines, compressors & steam turbines.
  • Finally, you enjoy to actively develop our teams on specific engineering skills on Gas Turbines and using your extensive field service knowledge and experience.


Summarized: This position is is a mix of office work, workshop engineering support and field service support. The amount of field work (business travel)  might differ from 20% to 40% depending on the workload. 


To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Have a (Bachelor or Master) degree in (Mechanical) Engineering or with a similar technical scope.
  • Having experience with Rotating Equipment is a benefit but not a must have.
  • Be eager to learn and willing to invest in yourself.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Have excellent developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Have a proactive and flexible attitude with the willingness to international travel.
