Join our Sulzer Services team, which is an independent provider of services and equipment repairs for the Turbomachinery industry. Sulzer Services specializes in the repair and overhaul of gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps and electromechanical equipment for the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power Generation industries. From Venlo (Lomm) or on site, we provide our customers worldwide with solid, customer-oriented, and flexible support for their Compressors, Steam and Gas Turbines. The Engineering and Development Department is responsible for the reverse engineering and first article production of turbine parts, including patent workarounds, improvements, and combustion technology. 
 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Conducting applied scientific research to advance the organization's technological capabilities in the field of Repair Processes and Reverse Engineering of industrial Rotating Equipment 
  • Conducting project-based research into possible improvements to existing processes and systems 
  • Proposing technical improvements for repairs and new parts of gas turbines and other Rotating Equipment
  • Coming up with solutions for the iterative steps during the work patent work arounds 
  • Make decisions about the reliability of calculated solutions 

 
To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Bring a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • To have 3 years of relevant work experience in the area of Industrial Engineering
  • Have specific knowledge of and experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a must-have 
  • Preferably have knowledge of working with the Finite Element Method (FEM) with Ansys, which is pro 
  • Preferably have knowledge of and experience with Model Analyses and Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English; additional language skills in German and/ or Dutch are a pro
  • Have excellent developed communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Bring a proactive and flexible attitude

Location:

We are based in Lomm (close to Venlo), which is a great place to live. You can choose to live with the benefits of a city like Venlo, Eindhoven or Nijmegen which are all within an hour of travel or in the quieter villages close to our facility. Venlo is known as a strategic European logistic hub, close to the German border, with the availability of a highway network into all directions and easy access to international airports of Eindhoven, Düsseldorf and Weeze. Located with a National Park (Maasduinen) in the backyard of our office you can spend your lunchtime with a healthy walk with your colleagues.
