Lead Stress Engineer - Full Time - LommNetherlands

Join our Sulzer Turbo Services team, part of Sulzer Services, which is one of the world's most advanced independent providers of repair, overhaul, and maintenance within the turbine industry. From Venlo (Lomm) or on site, we provide our customers worldwide with solid, customer-oriented, and flexible support for their Compressors, Steam and Gas Turbines. Please join our proud and highly skilled international crew as a Lead Stress Engineer.
 
In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Lead the Mechanical Analysis function, driving right first-time assessment and continual improvement of our methods and processes.
  • Perform structural and modal analytical assessments such as fatigue, creep, damage tolerance, corrosion, and rotor integrity to support new design and repair concepts, evaluate production variance, and maintain support for operations.
  • Lead mechanical analysis activities executed by resources from within the business and external engineering service providers.
  • Operate effectively across regional functions such as manufacturing, supply chain, and programme management office.
  • Communicate technical and business results effectively at all levels within the business.
  • Participate in technical reviews including with external customers.

 
To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Engineering Degree with a minimum of 7 years of industrial experience.
  • Previous experience building and running structural and modal simulations.
  • Proven ability to lead the technical contributions of assigned resources, both internally and externally.
  • Strong planning skills with a track record of delivering on time.
  • Good communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Location: 

We are based in Lomm (close to Venlo), which is a great place to live. You can choose to live with the benefits of a city like Venlo, Eindhoven or Nijmegen which are all within an hour of travel or in the quieter villages close to our facility. Venlo is known as a strategic European logistic hub, close to the German border, with the availability of a highway network into all directions and easy access to international airports of Eindhoven, Düsseldorf and Weeze. Located with a National Park (Maasduinen) in the backyard of our office you can spend your lunchtime with a healthy walk with your colleagues.
