Supplier Quality Engineer - Full Time - Leeds, United Kingdom

Sulzer Leeds is expanding, and we're seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure our suppliers meet industry standards, Sulzer's stringent requirements, and project specifications. Your expertise will be essential in minimising non-conformance and ensuring the timely delivery of compliant products.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Process Management: Oversee internal and supplier-facing processes, adapting and refining them to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Production Support: Support production schedules by managing external inspection tasks, ensuring alignment with delivery requirements and client expectations.
- Supplier Audits and Continuous Improvement: Manage the supplier audit schedule, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on the findings.
- Supplier Inspections: Perform in-process, notified, and final inspections at supplier premises. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure the timely resolution of any non-conformities.
- Supplier Selection and Risk Mitigation: Apply your supply chain experience and utilise supplier performance data to assist in supplier selection and mitigate risks effectively.
- Supplier Quality Kick-Off Meetings: Attend and facilitate kick-off meetings with suppliers to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and expectations.
- Collaboration and Conflict Resolution: Liaise with relevant departments to resolve conflicts and clarify specifications, ensuring smooth project execution.
- NCR Management: Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), communicate technical requirements for rectification, and minimise disruption to production schedules.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification aligned with relevant experience.
- Experience in an inspection environment with qualifications such as NDT, CSWIP, NACE, or CompEx.
- Proficiency in working with various materials and processes including castings, forgings, fabrications, machining, electrical, and paint.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with SAP or similar systems
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
