We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, innovative, Rotating Equipment Specialist to join the Services Engineering Team. The role is home based with regular travel to our service centre network and customer sites covering predominantly Uk, and with the opportunity to work with other Sulzer sites across the EMEA region with occasional international travel.
A fantastic time to join us on our journey as we grow our steam turbine business being the technical expert in Sulzer dealing with a variety of products and being able to build an in-house technical network – leading the way to mould the role and make your mark.
In this role you will be accountable for:
- You will be the Rotating equipment Technical Specialist supporting the Service Organisation and Engineering Colleagues on Steam Turbines
- Advise on issues encountered during inspection, repair, overhaul, installation, commissioning, and operation associated with the allocated product range
- Conduct site investigations, troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Advise best practice repair methods and technical justifications
- Provide technical support/recommendations/justifications to local sales teams on Equipment upgrades
- Support other departments on technical problems within field of knowledge and experience
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients to optimise customer satisfaction and take opportunities to make proposals for technical improvements
- Support major bids, LTSA and tender clarifications meeting
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A self-motivated and dynamic Technical Specialist capable of developing relationships and driving results
- A Deep understanding of Steam Turbine machinery components, operation, and their systems
- Extensive experience with OEM or Independent Service Provider
- Ideally, Degree qualified, or with HNC or equivalent in Mechanical engineering.
- You will also have experience on repair processes, commercially focused, and trained in good management practices and able to build strong supplier/customer relationships.
- Additional Centrifugal compressor and/or gearbox experience would be beneficial, however not essential
