Mechanical Analyst - Full Time - LeedsUnited Kingdom

 

Sulzer Pumps UK is a Top Employer based in Leeds and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join and strengthen our design team. 

 

You will help to support, review, and compile mechanical analysis documentation to clients, proving the mechanical, rotor dynamic and structural integrity of products. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Sales & Tendering Departments for new and varied pump and package designs 
  • Provide advice and support to the Design Engineers to determine requirements for rotor dynamic design calculations and structural FEA (Finite Element Analysis) investigations
  • Pressure boundary FEA (Finite Element Analysis) analysis
  • Design reports in relation to all Mechanical Integrity and Design Validation assessments
  • Support to the Service Division, where mechanical analysis and/or assessments are required (e.g. pump retrofits and upgrades) 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree Qualification in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices & standards
  • Relevant experience within related industry ideally Oil and Gas 
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of rotor dynamics (lateral and torsional)
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and Analytical skills 
  • Excellent Customer service skills 
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change 
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
