Sulzer, renowned for its century-long excellence in pumps, agitators, compressors, and critical rotating equipment, is seeking a dynamic Machining Specialist to join our procurement team at advanced pump design and manufacturing facility in Leeds. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • You will play a pivotal role in expanding our outsourced machining network, ensuring the consistent quality and on-time delivery of machined parts.  

  • Ensure the consistent quality and on-time delivery of machined parts. 

  • Audit suppliers, ensuring they meet Sulzer’s high-quality standards. 

  • Support the "make vs buy" strategy by working closely with suppliers worldwide. 

  • Drive supplier development initiatives to enhance performance. 

  • Travel internationally to collaborate with key suppliers, ensuring they meet Sulzer's machining standards. 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • Expertise in diverse machining techniques 

  • Experience working with a range of materials in machining processes 

  • Strong commercial acumen to navigate supplier relations and procurement decisions 

  • Willingness to travel internationally, visiting key suppliers and partners 

  • Ability to maintain strict quality standards while ensuring timely delivery of parts
