Sulzer is seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team and oversee high-value, post-contract claims across our global business. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of claims driving successful outcomes for Sulzer and our customers.
  • Provide expert advice to Project Management and Procurement teams on the successful management of relationships, contract terms, change orders, and ensuring compliance throughout the post contract project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the Project Management and Procurement teams to ensure smooth contract execution, effective claims management, whilst build strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Oversee the Warranty team, with line management responsibility, ensuring claims are processed correctly and complex issues are escalated for successful commercial resolution.
  • Ensure contracts are managed effectively post-project, providing guidance to colleagues proactively preventing any emerging disputes.
  • Commercial management of ad hoc claims from other areas of the business, as required.
  • Always being a supportive champion of Sulzer’s TEAM and LEAD cultural values.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A business degree or similar qualification in a commercial/contract area (equivalent professional experience will be considered for strong candidates), with knowledge of commercial contract issues and claims management.
  • Over 5 years in a similar role within Engineering, Industrial, Infrastructure, Energy, Electrical Engineering, or related industries.
  • Experience managing high-value and complex claims, with a focus on commercially viable solutions.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior management, clients, suppliers, and teams across multiple global regions.
  • To be an excellent communicator, and a team player, and a great negotiator.  
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, ready to take on a leadership role in an evolving function.
