Our Advanced Pump Design and Manufacturing facility in Leeds is seeking a skilled Factored Goods Buyer to strengthen our procurement team and help us uphold our legacy of excellence.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of factored goods for OEM pump manufacturing, including seals, gaskets, bearings, impellers, casings, motor drives, valves, piping, filters, sensors, and more.
  • Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to meet our strict OEM manufacturing standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure cost savings while upholding quality.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement strategies with manufacturing needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance based on delivery times, quality, and compliance, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to drive efficiency and optimise procurement processes.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous procurement experience within an OEM manufacturing environment, especially with factored goods (preferred but not essential).
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier markets.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience in sourcing and contract management.
  • The ability to interpret technical specifications and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Professional qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous.
  • A pragmatic focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
