We’re looking for an Assembly Supervisor to join our team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team within our Advanced Pump Design and Manufacturing facility, supporting Sulzer’s Flow Equipment division – a site renowned for its technical precision, global reach, and commitment to continuous improvement. Our Leeds facility is a globally recognised manufacturing hub, specialising in the design, manufacture, and assembly of complex, high-performance pump systems. Serving customers across energy, water, and industrial markets, the site offers full end-to-end capability – from 3D design and simulation to final build, testing, and dispatch. As part of a growing and collaborative team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering engineered solutions that support sustainable infrastructure worldwide.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities within the assembly department to meet production targets and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to ensure on-time delivery of complex pump systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, efficiency, and workflow processes
  • Manage and develop a skilled team of assembly technicians through coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience supervising within a mechanical assembly or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and precision assembly practices
  • Excellent people management skills with a hands-on and proactive approach
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production setting
