We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sulzer as an Apprentice in one of our four specialised pathways:

 

  • Engineering Fitter (Mechanical or Electrical)
    • Electrical – Get hands-on experience installing and wiring electrical components, sensors, and cables. Learn to fit trays, junction boxes, and bring machines to life!
    • Mechanical – Work with powerful machinery, assembling and testing components, repairing rotating equipment, and making sure everything runs smoothly.

 

  • Manufacturing Support Technician – Become a key part of the team by helping to estimate costs and plan projects, making sure everything is built on time and to budget.

 

  • Machining – Master high-tech engineering! Learn how to operate lathes, mills, and CNC machines to create precision parts used in cutting-edge industries.

 

  • Welding / Metal Fabrication – Develop skills in welding and metalwork, building strong, high-quality structures and pipework for exciting projects in top industries.

What we're looking for:

  • 3 predicted or achieved National 5 qualifications at Grad C or above, which must include Maths and English.
  • Motivated to learn and develop
  • Communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Time management

 

What will your time as an apprentice look like?

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be fully supported by both Sulzer and our partner training provider, to ensure you have everything needed to be successful.

 

Your time at college will be spent learning practical skills and spending time developing academically. When you are on site at Sulzer you will be supported in putting your practical skills into real work. To support your development, you will be offered internal training and mentoring while working towards a Level 6 qualification and Modern Apprenticeship.
