We are looking for an Advance Procurement Specialist to join our Energy and Infrastructure Business Unit to be based at our Leeds facility. In this key role, you will have the opportunity to manage the tendering procurement for key projects focused on factored goods.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Ensure technical and commercial competitiveness for supplier bids, covering all factored goods eg motors, turbines, gear boxes, lube oil systems etc.
  • Acts as mediator between suppliers and Application Engineers, coordinate in conjunction with Sales team through the tendering and order entry
  • Identify sourcing opportunities to reduce costs
  • Supports operational procurement during order handover
  • Work closely with intra-regional and cross-regional teams on international biddings

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in procurement or tendering with an emphasis on Factored Goods (preferably motors or seals)
  • Demonstrable experience in an International Engineering Environment, ideally with knowledge of the Pumps industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-oriented approach and strong analytical skills and a ‘can-do’ mentality
  • Enthusiastic, resilient, and empathetic team player with a hands-on attitude.
