Mechanical Engineer - Full Time - Laverton NorthAustralia

 

Join our Services_APAC  team within Services division in Australia as Mechanical Engineer to help us take Sulzer to the next level. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Development of specific test procedures and inspection plans.
  • Provide expertise on fault finding for electrical/mechanical testing results on rotating equipment.
  • Commissioning of electrical rotating machines and their accessories.
  • Provide Quality Assurance inspections for overhauled equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues with electro-mechanical rotating machines in service centre and at site.
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) of issues, and recommendations of repair and upgrades.
  • Develop technical reports, proposal, and support cost estimation
  • Support Service Centres with overhaul and asset maintenance projects.
  • Support quality team opening and closing NCR’s.
  • Liaise with customers regarding estimation and design as appropriate.
  • Initiate and participate in the planning and development of engineering policies and procedures.

 

What you bring to Sulzer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electical Engineering with Professional Engineering Registration
  • 5+ years technical experience with electrical rotating equipment services (Generators, HV Motors etc)
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Experience conducting and facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations 
  • A technical background in engineering preferably in power generation heavy industry
  • Machine diagnostics (electrical testing/vibration analysis) is a plus
