Fitter Machinist - Full Time - Laverton North, Australia

We are looking for a Fitter Machinist  to join our Services_EAPA  team in Australia .

About the Role:
In this hands-on role, you will play a crucial part in the mechanical repair and maintenance of LV and HV motors. This is your chance to thrive in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Perform mechanical repairs on Low, Medium, and High-Voltage electrical rotating machinery.
  • Disassemble electromechanical equipment while documenting parts identification, configuration, and condition in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
  • Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on shafts, journals, housings, and other worn or defective electromechanical components, including gears, seals, impellers, switches, brakes, clutches, rotors, fans, end shields, and bearing fits.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of electromechanical equipment assemblies using appropriate methods such as parts washers, steamers, caustic tanks, and grit blasters. 

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or similar.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting and machining of large equipment, including motors and generators.
  • Strong ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
