Rotor Technician/Mechanic - Full Time - La Porte (TX), United States
Join our SULZER team as a Rotor Technician. As a Rotor Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, disassembling, reassembling, and low speed balancing all rotating elements for a variety of turbomachinery. Your expertise in working with hand tools, measuring devices, operating machinery and balance pedestal will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of rotating equipment.
We currently have open positions for this role on both DAY and NIGHT Shifts (night shift qualifies for shift differential pay)
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
· Inspect, disassemble, reassemble and balance all rotating elements for a variety of turbomachinery (steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, hot gas expanders, etc.)
· Demonstrate proficiency in using the required hand tools and measuring devices.
· Safely operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts.
· Accurately interpret indicators and micrometers within a precision of .0001".
· Read and understand technical information relevant to the job.
· Complete all associated documentation required for assignments.
· Continuously develop knowledge of products, materials, and procedures to improve job performance.
· Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
· Communicate effectively with co-workers and work well within a team.
· Adhere to company safety, quality policies, and ISO procedures.
· Participate in company-required training programs.
Standard Day Shift starts at 5:00AM. Being the global leading turbomachinery service provider, regular overtime available to manage the strong backlog and customer demand.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
· Mechanical aptitude, reliability, integrity, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
· Experience working with rotating equipment preferred.
· Experience with balancing preferred (but not required).
· Willingness to work overtime as needed.
· Must have the required tools to perform assigned tasks or ability to acquire them.
