We are looking for a/an Product Development Engineer to join our Services_AME  team in United States .

 


 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

 

  • Utilize contact and non-contact technology for the purpose of defining the dimensional requirements for production.  Excellent knowledge of and ability to use precision hand gages as well as scanning technology such as laser and structured light.
  • Creating 3D digital representations of objects using both direct and parametric modeling techniques
  • Creating standards-based models & 2D drawings to define & guide manufacturing processes.
  • Use various technologies, processes, and resources to define material properties beyond chemical composition, such as mechanical properties and the processing / manufacturing steps to achieve the desired condition.
  • Able to apply knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes for the development and production of parts and tooling.
  • Eagerness to learn the details of engine design, manufacturing, and assembly through development of parts for a variety of the units we service.
  • Document technical information through design reports and project summaries.
  • Evaluate a process and develop tools / fixtures / documentation necessary for performing the process to meet operational requirements.
  • Establish dimensional, metallurgical, and manufacturing requirements for parts to be installed in customer units and qualify internal and external vendors to produce these parts.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

 

  • Continually strive to learn and apply knowledge to develop a high level of efficiency in the required skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in mechanical engineering or closely related field of study.
  • Experience with CAD / CAM using Siemens NX or similar tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability learn technical and design aspects for Rotating Equipment parts and repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varying schedules.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites to perform reverse engineering.
  • Applicants with equivalent experience will be considered.
